December suits travellers who prefer cooler weather, and families who need the school holidays. The first three weeks are relatively quiet; the period around the winter break is much busier and prices reflect that.
Six to eight weeks for early December. For the school holiday period at the end of the month, book three to four months ahead — those dates carry the same pressure as any other peak family period.
This is the coolest month of the year. Days are mild and evenings are genuinely cold by Saudi standards, particularly in Madinah. Pack a proper jacket for Fajr and Isha.
